1985 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 on 2040-cars
Jackson, Missouri, United States
1985 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 This is a very clean 1985 Chevy Suburban. The odometer is beyond mechanical limits but shows 65,700; assuming actual mileage is 165,700. The interior is in good shape, all original, small tear on seam in driver's seat. New Alpine CD player installed, bluetooth capable. No cracks in the dash. Headliner intact. Minimal rust for the year. Has been treated by Ziebart for rust prevention and has been sprayed with bed liner spray on the rocker panels. Tires in good condition. New paint job in 1995. Drop down tailgate. 454 motor out of a late 70's Chevy pickup with approx. 30,000 miles on rebuild. 4 wheel drive in good working condition. 700R4 transmission. Airbags on rear suspension for towing; heavy springs. Newer, heavy duty brakes. Now for the bad: Motor has a miss in it (probably a timing issue). Rust on inside of rear passenger door and on tailgate (pictured). The key activated window motor on the rear gate does not work (have to roll down window from the front to open). AC has been converted to 134A, but there is a hole in the line to the rear AC unit that needs to be fixed (does not blow cold right now). Small dents and scratches from normal wear. Buyer to arrange local pickup only (63701) or transport. |

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]
Sun, 26 Jan 2014If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
