You are bidding on a 1975 Chevrolet 3/4 ton 2WD Suburban with just over 100,00 original miles. This Suburban was a one owner vehicle living in the same city and garage its entire life. The engine is a 454,automatic transmission with factory dual ac that still blows cold (rear does not) power steering, power brakes and a period correct tow package and electric brake. This thing is a time capsule and cooler than cool. The interior is near perfect with the exception of the headliner( sagging). The door panels, dash and instrument cluster are perfect, including the original wheels and hubcaps. This was the family's main rig and was treated with love its whole life, regular maintenance etc. I have all the original paper work and receipts (no build sheet) but have two original brochures from the local dealership just miles from my house. The original owner special ordered it with dual ac, and only a single rear bench. All the glass is perfect and little to zero rust and believe it or not the electric rear window works perfect!!, even has the original carpet thats very nice for its age.If your a Chev guy/fanatic like myself your not going to find a better one of these. I bought it just as it sits with the dust intact. Sorry for no engine bay shots as its a time capsule as well. Only the rear ac pump is missing, but totally unmolested engine. I will get pics of that engine bay on here soon. I'll kick myself for selling it and hope it goes to a fellow Chevrolet guy to tow his classic with Lol.
On Sep-11-14 at 18:47:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added photos and I'll answer a few questions. Yes its a Siverado, rear end 3.73. The engine compartment is only missing the smog pump otherwise everything is there. The original jack and spare tire are in the truck. The interior, besides the headliner is missing one trim ring around drivers side passenger door lever. One small dent like I mentioned R/F lower quarter and a small bend in the L/R bumper and thats it. Its solid. All the rust on the underside is surface all panels are rust free. The truck sat since 06 in a garage. Engine runs great and even better if you tossed new plugs in it. Steers tight and stops excellent. This thing could be a daily driver no problem. |

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
