Rare vehicle.  Thought to be the original 292 engine.  When I obtained the vehicle it had a turbo 350 in it.  I put in the powerglide out of a 66 truck.  The transmission is tight and is not sluggish in shifting.  I believe it was rebuilt some years ago.  This is a daily driver and I can get in and go anytime.  It originally came with the bucket seats in the front and had two rows of seating in the back.  The middle seat was gone before I got it.  All the seats are period correct.  All lights and gauges work as they should as well as the horn.  It has power steering and power brakes.  It is the original frame, the vin can be seen on the frame.  Heat works good.  The front clip is new (minus the hood).  The hood is from Texas and is not rotted out.

I encourage ANYONE who is bidding on the truck to ask ALL questions they have BEFORE you bid.  The last thing I want is to have someone disappointed when they show up to get it.  The only reason it is on eBay is because I have found something else that I want.  The family does not want me to sell this.

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.

Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
