1966 Ford Mustang 289 V-8 Hardtop - Excellent Condition, Trophy Winning, Rust Free
Offering all car collectors and lovers of the original and iconic first generation Ford Mustangs a unique opportunity to own this beautiful, show worthy and exceptionally clean 1966 Ford Mustang 289 V-8. One trophy and a plaque (first and second place) won by this Mustang are included with the car. No weird smells and non-smoker owned this car smells factory fresh. This older restoration 89,600 mile Mustang needs
nothing and is in very good original mechanical and good cosmetic condition. Before I
purchased this car, it spent most of its life in the southeast United States
and was originally purchased and driven in Charlotte, North Carolina. For the nearly eight years I have owned it, it has always been garage
kept and stored winters. This Mustang is completely stock, has no
modifications and has been cared for in
a way that is unusual for vintage Mustangs - never kid owned, modified, or
abused. The engine is smooth and strong and the car’s automatic transmission
shifts smooth and crisp. The single exhaust is original style and the car is
quiet running. The steering is tight and
accurate feeling and the car feels and is really solid. Although not concours, this Mustang shows well and is a beautiful shade of it's original “Sahara Beige” and the paint is shiny and is in good condition. This car has no rot on the body or frame. The body is original and solid. The engine compartment is remarkably clean and show worthy - see pictures. The chrome shows quite well for the car's age - see photos, the bumpers are straight and the wire wheel covers simply glisten in the sunlight while in motion. The original interior is clean with nice patina - see photos. The original AM radio works perfectly and will pick up your favorite talk radio station or oldies station or your local ball game station. This fine classic has a clean underside and although not detailed, is just what you would expect from a solid and well maintained and cared for car. The trunk on this car is clean and original and the five matching whitewall radial tires, all in excellent condition, have less than 1,500 miles on them. GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
