up for sale is a 1995 chevy s10 with a 454 big block chevy and 6 speed t56 manual transmission. i have owned the truck since 2005, was previously a southern truck. has always been garaged year round and only driven in summer months. it currently is in a PROJECT state. most of the major work is finished. i have too many toys and i would rather see someone finish this than for it to sit.
the truck is in fantastic shape, no rot or rust anywhere. the body is not perfect, but still presentable. there is a ding on the bottom of passanger side rocker panel. the firewall needs to be finished as well as patch panels around where roll cage was welded in. some of the roll cage still needs to be finished.
the engine is a 454 mark 4 engine with 781 large oval port heads. the one that is in the truck does not go with it, it is the other one pictured with the air cleaner. i will have these swapped before the buyer picks up. the engine is a good candidate for your build. the transmission is in good shape, out of a 94 trans am. it is a 450ftlb rated t56 6 speed manual.
the wheels and tires are greg weld prostars 15x8 rear and 15x3.5 front. hoosier 275 DR's in rear with some radials up front.
the suspension has beltech spindles, ground force springs, drop leafsprings and 1" block. currently still has a stock gm 7.625 rear end.
fuel tank has been reloated/replaced with a rci aluminum fuel cell in rear, ~19 gallons.
full autometer ultralite guage setup. mech fuel pressure, mech oil pressure, elec water temp, voltage, speedo, and autogage/autometer 5" tach with shift light. all fitted into stock cluster with smoothed bezel. dash trimmed to fit around cage. electrical included to wire truck.
all aluminum two core radiator with electric fan.
manual gear box, steering and joints all pretty new, brakes in good shape. cpp booster.
front end has been converted to envoy style. has spal door poppers, shaved everything.
all the stuff is there, and it will be an awesome pro street truck. i would love to see it finished, but i have too many toys right now. if you have any questions please message me. thank you and happy bidding!

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war
Sun, 30 Dec 2012A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
