For sale is a 1993 Chevrolet S10. I am the third owner and have owned this vehicle for 3 years. Vehicle only has 89050 miles. Engine is a v6 2.8L that is stock except for aftermarket Edelbrock valve covers w/ breathers on both sides. Paint is in okay condition with a few light scratches. Hood has/had stripes that are fading. No lower front valence. Front and rear bumpers have mild dents, but brackets and mounts are perfectly fine. 5 speed trans with new(er) clutch, 6000 miles on it. Not much interior, a lot to be desired, unless you like that. Front seat and rear bomber seats. Jensen flip out head unit. Needs new speakers. Drivers window sits in the track and rolls up and down(with slight help). Needs clips that go around window, to hold it straight. Exhaust is weird, Frankenstein, stock v6 downpipes that merge into Y. New Magnaflow Cat., into a 3 or 4 foot, 3 inch pipe. Single inlet Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler dual outlet. Dual axle back exhaust to rear, rear piping is 2.5 inch pipe. Rear piping needs hangar. Exhaust is very loud(for a V6), and is often mistook for a 350(later model 350 very detuned). Revs up loud, crackles, bangs, and pops, its awesome. Wheels are crudely painted 2nd gen Camaro Z28 wheels, minus the beauty ring and center cap. Wheels could be easily stripped and repainted to a specific color(Not by me). Needs tires in rear. Rear fender wells have one rather medium sized hole in either side. I put tape over it to cover, but looks horrible, it needs replaced or you can use bare bond flex tape. New fuel tank, and filter. No warranty, and sold as is. Buyer is responsible for pick up

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
