This beauty has one of the most unique patinas I have seen on any Ratrod / Patina Truck. It belonged to Bayless Excavating and Demolition, door logo still remains as a ghost sign. This truck was originally Hunter Green, but it got painted decades ago to match their company colors. Colors = Factory Green, Primer = (terra-cotta/ brown) and finally painted (Cream). When the company closed down the truck got retired and left to die. When I found it I decided this truck needed to be brought back to life, and make it one of the sickest Rat Rod Trucks you can find. It was directly shipped to my builder from the field where it was forgotten. I rested for over 3 decades only the watchful care of Mother Nature. With my vision and my builders great skills it went thru a full Custom Rat Rod Restoration with the focus being on enjoying the Rat Rod look on the outside and performance of a modern truck. Keep in mind this a custom build classic truck and not a Brand New Chevy Silverado, so it’s you must respect it’s limitations. Yes, it has rust, dents and scratches, but over all the body is super solid Features:
-One of a kind Patina -Custom Build Tube Frame with a Sealed Tight to act as the Air Ride Tank -90’s Chevy S10 Front Clip -Front Disc Brakes & Rear Drums, New Matching Finned Master & Booster, New Lines. -Small Block Chevy 350 with a small cam -Custom Billet Finned Dress Up Kit -Custom Lift Wood Bed -Battery Mounted behind the driver seat. -12 Gallon Fuel Cell -Cleaned & Painted Fire Wall with Hunter Green to match original color -Automatic Transmission with LOKAR 23” Shifter -Full Custom Interior with Newly Upholster original bench seat (big +) & door panels. New Headliner, New Face Gauges (not operating), New Interior Door & Window Cranks, New Custom All Weather Mat -All Brand New Glass & Weather Strips -Full Air Ride System: 2 Brand New ViAir 380 Compressors, Firestone 7” Bags, 1/2 Inch Air Line, PTC Fittings -20 x 8.5 Boss 304’s Chrome Wheels -Tires have 35% life thread (New Tires for additional $400.00) -Headlights, Parking & Brakes Lights all work as they should. -Clean & Clear Idaho Title What it needs: -Windshield Wipers (Included a brand new bottle of RainX) -Turn Signals ( Arm Signals is way cooler) -All Chevy Motors leak. It has a small oil drip from what is believe to be the rear main seal. It will stain your drive way for sure. -A New Owner that is not afraid to have a crowd pleaser and loves attention. -Oh yeah, the Tires need to be changed but is not something that is a Major Emergency. You can ride it as it for a while. Check out my website for Past & Future Projects: Sold As-Is with Warranty For Questions or to set an Appointment to view it Call or Text me Eddie, directly at 305-281-6440 as I have a very busy work schedule. I will entertain all offers, but as i've done before I will more than likely just let it roll on eBay. I do encourage all bidders to call, so I can answer any questions prior to bidding. If you need the vehicle shipped I will do my best to assist you in any way I can, but at the Buyers Total Expense. I encourage that buyers inspect the truck or arrange a 3rd Party Appraisal Company to come and inspect vehicle prior to the auction ending. Payment: I will only accept PayPal for deposit due thru PayPal. The Balance must be paid thru Wire Transfer or Cashier Check. The funds are due 5 days after the auction ends, and must be cleared in full before the vehicle can be shipped. For your protection I will email you a Bill of Sale along with a copy of the Title and my Drivers License prior to you submitting the full payment. *Now for the Legal Stuff. I am serious business man, and you should be too before bidding. If you have less than 3 Feedback, please contact me prior to bidding or your bid may get canceled. ***Buyer must make a $500 deposit 24 hours of auction ending or I will call the 2nd highest bidder and give him the opportunity to buy it. I will release or ship the vehicle once paid in full. Vehicle is Sold As Is, No Warranty written, expressed or implied. No Returns! SHIPPING / TRANSPORT: I can recommend affordable and reliable shippers that I have used in the past, and assist with Shipping. Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country
Wed, 09 Apr 2014It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)
Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
