51' Custom Chevy Truck With 460 Hp Ford Motor, No Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:1951 Mileage:32000
Location:

Missouri City, Texas, United States

Missouri City, Texas, United States

We purchased this truck from a hot rod shop in Wisconsin. It was the owners personal shop truck that he created. We purchased it to advertise our company and it is has been very successful. This is not a show truck, but it could easily be one with very little work. We repainted the truck white and fixed everything that was wrong with it. The engine has been completely gone through. It is very fast and runs perfect and the belly burner exhaust is really a nice touch and gives off a really good sound. It is a real attention getter going down the road.

Pin stripping and vinly lettering can be easily removed, but I would leave the pin stripping. It is really well done! We have well over $15,000 invested in the truck as it sits. To our knowledge, the truck needs nothing. If we were to keep it, we would probably put a more custom interior in it, but it looks really good as is. We are starting the auction at a low price because I have no idea of its value. Hopefully, people who knows trucks will.

I have no idea if the milage is correct. I am assuming it represents the milage once the truck was completed by the builder.

I will list what I know about the truck, but again I am not a collector, so my knowledge is limited.

* Sits on a S10 chevy frame
* 460 ford motor (do not know HP)
* belly burner exhaust
* automatic
* chopped roof
* new paint
* custom interior and gauges
* air ride suspension that can be adjusted
* all new points plugs and wiring
* rebuilt 4 barrel carburetor
* title is in my hands and it is clear.

I have tried to present the car to the best of my ability and it is being sold as is.

Thanks for taking the time to look at our truck and I will try to answer questions, but I am limited in my knowledge.

Forgot to say that it has a hitch hidden under the license plate. Plate is on a spring and it folds down.

Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
