1961 Chevrolet Apache Chevy 1 Ton Stepside Truck 2x4 on 2040-cars
Woodford, Virginia, United States
Helllo , up for sale is my 1961 Chevy Apache ,step side 1 ton 2x4. It has the original 235 i6 and bulldog 4 speed shift on floor.
Picked it up from MI a few years back as a project and have fixed it up to running (and braking ) but still need a little more TLC to be 100% road worthy IMO. I have all papers on work done and I will list. in 04/2011 to get it running master cylinder was replaced Carb. was rebuilt with new kit Fuel Filter Points and Condensers replaced Spark plugs as well 08/2011 Oil pressure switch replaced. The one that was put on , the wire broke so I have a new aftermarket one in glove box and used it. Putting out around 42psi right and left brake cylinders New brake lines flanged and replaced brakes adjusted. Took to body shop had the only rust (on passenger door jamb) removed and replaced with metal and paint a flat black. 11/2012 had slave cylinder replaced Thermostat Radiator flush and seal 11/2013 battery and terminals replaced. Since purchase not even 400 miles have been put on it. The original wood bed is still on this truck ,someone welded a steel plate over it and that is the bed, it has some rust on the plate welded down. It is a strong runner ,have had it doing 60 mph which impressed me . It does smoke a lot when starting up and running, burning oil. I know it will need all seals and rings replaced soon. It will start and drive but after driving for a good distance it wants to shut off and takes a while to start again, I'm thinking floater in carb. Still has original split rims as well. I do not think the badges are correct as it says 3800 apache. I think I looked into it and the 1 ton with vin starting with C are C-20 's, these are a farmer package option(third party info). It has a mounted tool box on one step side and spare tire on other. I love how it looks and sounds but no time for the extra time to get it where I want it . Gets a lot of attention when on the road as it is now can imagine when finished. Gas gauge does not work either does horn. Lights and blinker work fine. Tires roll with the best of them but sides are showing wear and creases. I drove on them fine. I have money tied in this project plus truck itself and I do not need to sell it so please email me with any questions or comments as I'm new to the Apache lingo . If I stated something incorrect about truck please inform as well. Like I said I have looked at other Apache models at shows ,online ,stovebolt forum and have not seen many like this at all. I will upload more pics of anything anyone would like just let me know. There is nothing to hide , truck is old and not is perfect shape. The only reason I'm open to sell it is my garage has toys in it I can't keep up with now and hate to have this just sit in the elements. Thanks for looking! |

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
