You are bidding on a 1959 Chevy Short box pickup. It was a 6 cylinder 4 speed truck. It has rust in the typical places, cab corners, drivers side lower hinge pockets  and a little bit starting to show on each step.  The front fenders have a little bit of rust on the lower back corners, had it professionally cut out and patched.  You can see in the pictures they are bare metal.  There is no rust above the headlights or in the front corners by the hood.  Everything is here minus the motor, transmission and drive line.  Spare tire fender and step are in very nice shape.  Passenger side fender is a little rougher but I have a nicer fender to replace it.  Drivers door has a chunk torn out by the fender.  I have a door to replace it . Passenger door has a broken wing window and door glass. I have used door glass and wing window to replace it.  The windshield is cracked  There is no rust in drip rails or upper cab , there are no dents in the top of the roof. The dash is not cut up, radio hole is in original shape. The front fenders, drivers side is very straight, the passenger side needs very little body work.
The box sides appear to be very straight, bed wood is rotted and has holes. In the glove box was found a book where the owner kept cost for gas and mileage, only one page was written in. I took the seat out cleaned the floor and put por 15 on the floor to keep it from rusting.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
