1959 Apache Fleetside

A true Cowboy Cadillac. This is another New Mexico gem with very little rust.

TITLE
I bought the truck from a fellow that had dreams to restore it but instead it sat on his ranch for 20 years. He had lost the title years ago so when I purchased it he gave me a bill of sale.
I talked to a title company and they said a title search would take three months to accomplish. The truck is not in the system due to it's age and that it hadn't been registered in over thirty years or so.
I had a VIN inspection done and they said it looks good. The VIN hasn't been painted over and still has the original rivets in place (see pics).
In New Mexico to title this truck it will cost $250.00 and it will take up to 3 months to get the paperwork.
Good News!

MECHANICAL
Runs Good! Since I've owned this truck I've had the heads rebuilt and the carburetor rebuilt and put in a new brake system. I've replaced all wires gaskets and hoses that needed to be. The gas tank was refurbished and I put in an electric fuel pump and new ignition. The gauges, heater and windsheild wipers do not work.

EXTERIOR
This is a long bed truck with original wood in the bed. There are minor dents and dings around the truck but nothing major. The rear bumper has a dent (see pics). The truck is missing a lot of the trim.
The paint is not original. There is a little rust on the back bottom of the cab and the front quarter panel by the door (see pics). This is all the rust I can see on the truck. There is no cancer on this truck and the metal is super thick and beefy.
The doors are hard to open and need to be readjusted.

INTERIOR
The bench seat is original. The passenger side door panel and window trim is intact. The driver's side panel and window trim is missing. All door and window handles are missing except for the drivers side window. All the window and door mechanics are intact. There are two cracks in the front windshield.

This truck it is being sold as is. We enjoy bringing these old gems back to life and back on the road. Check out our rating. We've sold many other cars and trucks on ebay and we wouldn't sell anything that we weren't fully confident in.
HAPPY BIDDING!

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
