1955 1/2 chevy 3800 cab on a 1974 chevrolet c20 4x4 frame, 14 bolt rear end, skyjacker lift with all new leaf springs, small block chevy 350, TH350 auto trans built by Hughes Performance in Pheonix, rebuilt np205 transfer case, engine was also rebuilt all at the same time when the restoration took place about 10 years ago, less than 10k miles since total rebuild. Front disc brakes, power brakes, power steering, even has power windows, new glass in doors, new $1000 seat, custom stacker exhaust with headers and flowmaster mufflers, aluminum radiator, electric fan, a/c(needs to be hooked up) new oil and filter, new trans filter and fluid, new gear oil in front and rear axles and transfer case. Brand new carpet, clean and comfortable inside, fun to drive. Has Moto Metal rims with 315/75/17 Goodyear Wrangler M/T tires and new lug nuts all around.

The registration has not been paid in a few years and a non-op was not issued, so California wants about $1200 for registration. This should not be a problem if registered in any other state. I have the title for the 55 cab and a title for the 74 frame. You should be able to drive it home if you can get a moving permit, but I would just have it towed to be safe, Uship.com is a good place to get it shipped to you. I do have a trailer and would be willing to deliver if we can agree on a price. I am about 2 hours east on Los Angeles, half hour north of Palm Springs.

I hate to see my beauty go, but I need the $$. Good luck bidding. If you want to come look at it or have questions before bidding, just call me at 760-362-5322.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.

Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
