On Sep-03-14 at 17:07:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for bid we have a rust free 71 Chevy Nova painted Almond green which is a Land Rover color and a Rally Nova stripe package (THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL RALLY NOVA) the original color of the car was a lime green color that was stripped to metal and the right front fender had new metal welded in the bottom. The car is laser straight with no waves and the body lines are even all the way around. The interior has new carpet and dash pad, the seats and headliner are perfect. The bottom of the door panel has scuffs from hitting it when getting out over the years and is a little worn. The car has new front & rear bumpers, vinyl top and the tires have less than 500 miles on them. The engine is a stock 350 that runs good and the 2 speed powerglide shifts as it should. Dual exhaust with flow master mufflers. The car goes down the road straight and there is no pulling from the drum brakes, you can take your hands off the wheel and step on the brakes and it stops in a straight line. Chevy 14" rally wheels with SS center caps. Direction lights work brake lights work headlights work. The am radio does not work. I have put about 400 miles on the car in the last three weeks with no issues. Any questions or if you need anymore pictures just ask. I highly recommend an inspection before bidding. Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
