1987 Chevy Monte Carlo Ss 454 Big Block on 2040-cars
Burlington, New Jersey, United States
Hey Guys, Check out this really nice 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo SS with 454 big block power. This car was recently restored a few years ago and basically just needs a new owner. Overall condition of the car is really good. The interior is like new and seats are near perfect along with the door panels. Tires have been updated and have less than 500 miles on them on all four. Car shifts and drives real nice with no signs of any major leaks or signs of exhaust leaks. As far as paint overall it looks real nice theres a few spots we would call fisheyes that should wet sand out from a qualified body shop. They are located on the driver side door mainly. The metallic flake really shines nice in the sun. Car starts up every time with no issues and idles real nice. Heres a quick list of all the recent updates done to this Monte 454 BBC Engine Mark IV Block Edlebrock Performer Intake 781 GM Cast Heads Roller Rockers Forged Pistons small dome with approx 10:1 compression Comp Cams hydraulic 280/280 520/520 850 Holley Double Pumper Hooker Headers 2800 stall convertor in a 700 r4 trans Moser Complete 12 bolt rear 3.73 ratio with 9 inch axles Flowmaster true dual exhaust Convo pro polished wheels We do reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally at our dealership. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild
Tue, 12 Feb 2013This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.
