THIS IS A 1972 CHEVY MONTE CARLO BARN FIND WAS PULLED OUT OF A GARAGE AFTER MANY YEARS OF SITTING. THE CAR IS IN NEED OF A FULL RESTORATION. HERE IS WHAT I KNOW OF THE CAR IS THE ENGINE STARTED BY DUMPING FUEL INTO THE CARB. IT HAS A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.THE ODOMETER SHOWS 69,244 NOT SURE ON THAT.THE BODY IS IN NEED OF A FULL RESTORATION. IT HAS SURFACE RUST AND A COUPLE SPOTS WHERE IT IS THRU. THIS IS A COMPLETE CAR AND WOULD BE A GREAT START FOR SOMEONE TO HAVE A REAL NICE CLASSIC MUSCLE CAR. THE ENGINE IS A CTB CODE WHICH COMES BACK AS A 1972 402 4BBL 240 HP. AUTO TRANS AND 12 BOLT REAR END. THE INTERIOR IS A BENCH SEAT AND THE FRONT SEAT NEEDS RECOVERED. THE REAR SEAT IS IN GOOD SHAPE JUST NEEDS CLEANED. I WILL PROBABLY CLEAN THE INT. Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
