1970 Monte Carlo on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:55673
Location:

Chevy Monte Carlo 2Dr. Up for sale is an extremely rare 1970 Monte Carlo. This Monte is one of 545 units factory equipped with a three speed manual shift on the column. This car has only 55,673 original miles. Same owner from May 1970 'til March of 2012. The original owner special ordered this Monte car to his liking with a 350/250hp, manual column shift, positraction rear end with 3.08 gears, dual exhaust, vinyl roof, bumperettes, and door belt moldings.

The original colors are forest green with a green cloth bench seat interior. Recent repairs include new rear springs, new clutch, complete tune-up fluid change, and new tires. This Monte was last registered and driven til 1987 where it was properly garaged and preserved. Other than a repaint in the late 70s , she is all original having never been restored. The body is very straight with no dents. The orginal chrome bumbers are straight and glowing.

The trunk is a time capsule with its original spare tire and original splatter paint. The interior is near perfect with the exception of one burn hole. The seat has some water stains from cleanings. Perfect headliner, dash pad, door panels, original mint carpet , mint steering wheel with no crack($),and original floor mats. I have the original protecto-plate, build sheet, sales brochure, and owners manuals. This is a great running and driving car needing no repairs at all. I am very experienced in first generation Monte Carlos and highly doubt there is another one in existance such as this one.

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.

Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
