CAR IS VERY RESTORABLE OR VERY GOOD PARTS CAR. THIS CAR RUNS AND DIVES. THE FRAME, FLOOR SUPPORTS, HOOD, DOORS, AND TRUNK LID ARE VERY SOLID. DRIVER SIDE FLOOR IS STARTING TO GO AND TRUNK PAN HAS A COUPLE SMALL HOLES. BOTTOM OF FRONT FENDERS AND QUARTERS ARE ROTTED. THE DOORS SHUT NICE. HUB CAPS ARE IN NICE SHAPE. THIS CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL, MOTOR, TRANS,INTERIOR WITH 92,000 MILES. CAR CAME FROM CONNETICUT AND HAS VERY SOLID FRAME AND FLOOR AND FLOOR SUPPORTS. Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
