1965 Chevelle Malibu Convertible on 2040-cars

Year:1965 Mileage:45222
Location:

San Marcos, Texas, United States

San Marcos, Texas, United States

Welcome!  You are bidding on a beautiful 1965 Chevelle Malibu Convertible.  This car has been garage kept for the past 10 years and is in great shape.  I have driven it across the state of Texas several times, but now it is only driven on Saturdays and Sundays as a cruiser. This is one fantastic ride!!!! And, YES, THIS CAR HAS 45,222 miles on the odometer.  I bought the car in 2003 in Houston, TX.  The then owner told me that he kept the car in the garage and rarely drove it (he had owned the car for 6 years).  He also told me that the gentleman that he bought the car from had owned it for 20 years, and kept it in the garage permanently, only taking it out for service!

In Line 6 cylinder 230 engine - This is only the second engine to go into this car.  It was rebuilt and put in the car 8 years ago, and only has about 2k miles on it.

Interior is all original with exception to the carpet and glove box (SEATS ARE IN FANTASTIC CONDITION!).  Carpet is in good shape.  Glove box is original, but the guts were taken out to make room for a cd player that I custom installed when I bought the car.  The glove box lock is not currently working and will need to be replaced.

Cream Vinyl soft top convertible - This is only the second top put on the car and was on it when I purchased the car in 2003.  The top is electric powered by a switch on the driver's side.  Currently, the hydraulic pump is not working well and likely needs to be replaced.  The top still comes down and goes up, but needs a little manual assistance.  Just a couple of small cuts on the top (cuts do NOT leak, they are not all the way through the top).  The top cover also comes with the car.

16 inch Craiger rims, but comes with the ORIGINAL hubs (as seen in pictures) that are in fantastic shape! Spare tire included as well.

This Car does not have power steering.

The only problem with this car is the small amount of rust in the rear wheel wells.  These panels will eventually need to be replaced.

The car has a beautiful paint job and looks great as you can see in the pics, but there are slight chips in the paint here and there.

Weatherproofing throughout needs to be replaced.  Most of it has dried up and is pretty fragile.

Chrome decals and kit are on just fine, but will eventually need to be replaced as well.  See Pics.

There is a small hole in the trunk that you can see in the photo.

Interior door panels are worn/torn at the bottom, see pics.

Small crack in the windshield on passenger side (see pic).  This is not expanding at all and does not obstruct view.

HAPPY BIDDING!!!

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
