SUMMARY: This car is for those who want to get around with good gas milage, and don't care much about looking pretty doing it. The details: Lets get the issues out of the way first... -Paint fading on basically all sides including the hood, but excluding the roof (Weird). -Missing Trimmings on doors (See pictures) -Factory alarm disabled (This is also a pro. See pros for why) -Airbag light is on (Had it checked. Mechanic said he didn't get any bad readings) -Several burns in interior from previous owner. (I am non-smoker so there is no smell) -Carpet coming up at front passenger side from alarm disablement -Some stains on carpet floor, seats are fine. -Vibration when turning on heater (Its still fully functional) -Check engine light comes on occasionally (Had this checked also, mech. says nothing to worry about) -Faulty low coolant light (Mechanic thinks other lights defective as well because the coolant tank and radiator is full) Now the pros... +New starter/Solenoid (July) +New Radiator (August) +New Front brakes and rotors (Literally 6 days ago) +New rear Brakes (July) +Air/ heat works +GREAT highway milage +Runs quiet + Huge trunk space (Sat in there once with a friend. It's freaking HUGE) + good tires (Maybe 60-75) + Large interior (For its size) +Factory alarm disabled (I did this because I wanted to have an emergency set of keys made, but the alarm would NOT let any non factory key start the car. So you will receive an extra set of keys with the car) Want to know anything else? Ask away! |

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
