Up for auction is a numbers matching, 425 HP, 409, 4 Speed, Impala Super Sport, two door hard top, black on black, Restored.

Collectable performance cars do not get any better than this. Yes a true three owner, original 86K miles, black on black, 409, 425 HP, 4 speed, Impala SS 2 door hard top. This car was originally purchased in the central part of Washington State, and now, the third owner, who has had the car in his collection, has decided to sale. A full restoration was finished in 2000, and the car has had only 70 miles put on it. This car has the 7000 R.P.M. tack, witch come with the 425 HP, two 4 barrel engine. It also has 456 rear end gears, so will be a great performing car. Before restoration the car was a very straight original, and this car had no rust at all. The body only had one very small ding, on the right rear quarter panel. All door gaps, and fender fit are nice, as it came from the factory. (look at pictures closely) A frame off restoration was done, and all components refreshed as needed. The motor is also fresh, and runs strong. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all shipping costs. We will help with loading on our end and in anyway we can. For questions please call Bill (208)750-0000

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
