I have owned this Impala SS since new, so you are looking at awesome single owner garage kept "cult" car. I have had all maintenance done at my local dealer for past 17 years. Motor runs strong, no issues with the car what so ever. When you hear the term turn-key, this is that car. All original equipment, windows slightly tinted to legal standard. Get in and go - fast ! I have found myself hanging on to this car for years not wanting to sell it, but I have decided it needs a new home. Recent tune up, new battery, new rear shocks, new wiper blades, new halogen headlights and new floor mats. Only negative is a door ding, which is small, on the passenger rear door. No stains or rips in the interior, I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10. This car has never been smoked in. Recently passed VA safety and emissions inspections. Tires have atleast 15k left on them. As you figured, it doesn't get driven that much - on average 5,000 miles a year. Most of those miles were driven on beautiful sunny days. Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
