THIS IS A BASE MODEL1969 CHEVROLET IMPALA CONVERTABLE CAR WAS ORIGINAL DARK EMERALD GREEN WITH WHITE INTERIOR AND TOP HAD BEEN REPAINTED RED AT ONE TIME IN IT'S LIFE WHICH IS THE COLOR IT IS NOW BODY OVERALL IS FAIRLY STRAIGHT,DOES HAVE RUST AND OLD FILLER REPAIRS BUMPERS ARE STRAIGHT ,REAR BUMPER HAS SOME PITTING ON LEFT SIDE GRILLE IN PICTURES IS OUT AND HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A BETTER BUT NOT PERFECT ONE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE SOLID,ALL GLASS IN GREAT SHAPE,NO CRACKS,ROLL UP AND DOWN EASY ELECTRIC TOP GOES UP AND DOWN,MITE NEED A NEW SWITCH AS I HAD TO PLAY AROUND WITH IT A FEW TIMES TO MAKE IT WORK TOP MATERIAL IS TOAST,NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS EXPECTED LITES,WIPERS,SIGNALS,BRAKE LITES,BLOWER MOTOR, ALL WORKING IT IS A FACTORY A/C CAR BUT DON'T HAVE THE COMPRESSOR INTERIOR IS ALL THERE BUT SEATS NEED REDONE, DOOR PANELS AND REAR PANELS DECENT BUT DIRTY AS HELL FLOOR PANS SEEM SOLID UNDER FOOT, AND LOOK SOLID FROM UNDER CAR BUT THERE IS RUST THROUGH UNDER THE BACK SEAT FLOOR PAN FROM YEARS OR TOP DRAIN,AND WOULD HAVE TO BE PATCHED TRUNK FLOOR IS SOLID WITH SURFACE RUST CAN BE CLEANED AND USED AS IS FRAME IS IN GREAT CONDITION,VERY SOLID WITH NORMAL SCALE RUST HAS OLDER 14" KEYSTONE CLASSIC MAG WHEELS TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION DRIVER QAULITY THIS WAS NOT A HIGHLY OPTIONED CAR ROLL UP WINDOWS,NO TILT,NO CRUISE,NO POWER SEAT OR DOORLOCKS HAS POWER STEERING,BRAKES ,POWER TOP,AND A/C ARE THE ONLY LUXERIES ON THE CAR. Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]

For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
