UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1964 IMPALA SS TWO DOOR COUPE, I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS AND I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PLAY WITH IT! THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE CAR 24 YEARS IN A GARAGE.THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN STARTED FOR A LONG TIME BUT THE 283 ENGINE TURNS FREE AND THE ANTIFREEZE IS NICE AND GREEN HOWEVER THE FUEL TANK SMELLS OF SHELLAC. I HAVE A NEW FUEL TANK LINES AND SENDING UNIT, NOT INSTALLED TO GO WITH HER. THE TRANSMISSION IS A STOCK TWO SPEED POWER GLIDE. THE FLOORS ARE SOLID BUT THE LOWER TRUNK HAS SOME RUST THROUGH. THE UNDER SIDE HAS SOME RUST AS TO BE EXPECTED FROM A 50 YEAR OLD RIDE. THE CAR COMES WITH ABOUT EVERYTHING NEEDED TO COMPLETE, OLD SEATS, NEW CARPET, 2 CONSOLES, DOOR PANELS, OLD CRACKED DASH PAD, ASSEMBLY MANUAL, AND FUEL SYSTEM. THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS A PROJECT! IT IS A REAL SS CAR AND COULD BE A GREAT START TO A RESTRO PROJECT OR MAYBE A RAT ROD, THATS UP TO YOU!

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
