1963 Chevrolet Impala on 2040-cars
Palm Coast, Florida, United States
More details at: francisbembry@gmx.com . From GM ad circa 1963.
I purchased this remarkable vehicle in 2001 from an automobile aficionado in North Carolina, and I
have gone to great lengths investing many thousands of dollars to restore this exceptional vehicle by using as many
NOS parts, paint, trim and mechanical items to maintain as much originality as possible. This exceptional vehicle
is original, unusual and is distinctively attractive, and for the person that desires the look of uniqueness,
admiring looks, attention and who wants to do it just a bit differently than everyone else! I have just repainted
the automobile and previously installed a NOS interior, convertible top, rebuilt the transmission, new gas tank,
tires, paint, chrome moldings, authentic Chevrolet Bow Tie Classic wire wheel hub caps and trim etc. The exhaust
system is a custom flow-master that adds to the appeal of this automobile as well to the color combination of
red/red/white.............and yes this car has the original color combination!.. This is a stunning classic
cruiser that turns heads wherever it goes and has been featured in several car shows, having been one of the
featured cars in the Naples Parade for several years and draws an voluminous amount of attention due to its
striking exterior and interior color combination. This meticulously restored vehicle is by no means a "TRAILER
QUEEN".In my opinion it is an excellent driver quality vehicle!, as my intention of restoring this vehicle was to
be driven and enjoyed!I have a clear Florida title in hand that can be transferred immediately after funds clear.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
