Hi, up for sale is my California born 1962 Chevy Impala SS. As you can see by the pics below its in very nice condition in & out. I'm the 3rd owner of this vehicle. Last owner owned it since 1981. Below I will try and describe exactly what i see and know about this car.

Starting with the Outside: a driver quality Ermine white paint job sprayed over a laser straight and rust free body. All chrome and stainless looks to be the originals and have been re-polished or redone at one time and still shows very well. Bumpers front and back are still real nice . All glass is in real good shape with no real defects. All outside electrical is in proper working order.

Inside: The inside of this car is really clean top to bottom. There's new seat covers and foam, real nice door panels with new armrest bases and inner door handles, all new window cranks, white headliner and visors are in great shape. Dash and steering wheel are still the originals but still show real well. All inside electrical works as it should. Beautiful inside ! There's an aftermarket CD player mounted in the glove box for some nice tunes.

Motor & Transmission: Car is still powered by the original 327 which still has alot of power. This is a power steering, manual brake car. Just did a complete tune-up so car is ready to go. I just put a new chrome kit under the hood but all the original items will go with the car with its new owner. The transmission is still the original powerglide that shifts just as it should with no hesitation. Car is a real good runner.

Rims & Tires: Car is currently rolling on a set of stocks with a new set of tires with maybe 50 miles on them. SS spinner hubcaps are in great shape only showing very minor wear.

Everything else: Undercarriage is very clean with all the original floor pans and has no signs of rust or soft spots anywhere. The suspension is all stock and cut. The rear has some air shocks that work real good. The trunk is in excellent shape as you can see and will come with the original jack kit and carpet kit.

All in all this car is in very good shape in and out. These cars are starting to get harder to fine uncut and not messed with. I'm pricing this car very reasonable for a fast sale. If you'd like to make an offer please do. I have no problem ending my listing early. Most of my Impalas don't last the whole 7 days. Don't let this one get away. I sell a lot of cars overseas so I can help arrange shipping to the LA ports at a reduced cost. Above I've tried to be as thorough as possible when describing the car but if you have any further questions feel free to email, text or call me at 408-seven12-9427. Thanks!

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
