I was planning a six month plus road trip to California and had almost everything rebuilt. This would make a great camper or the best plumbing truck you could find short a new one. I will be able to show invoices for everything as I was in the trucking business for many years. Electric windows are its only drawback but new motors are available. Tires are extra heavy duty B F Goodrich as I did not want tire trouble on the road. Transmission is all new recently with a price tag of + - $1,700 Radiator has also been replaced so I would not run into trouble in the desert. Brakes also done. Battery also. I have a heavy trailer hitch on the rear and also one in the front for moving my boat into the yard around trees. There is an A/C 120v unit for camping. I love this truck and kind of hate parting with it but my trip is now on hold. One of the pictures shows what an illegal did to me in a hit and run. Bumper is replaced with a specialty bumper after the accident. |

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom.
