2005 Chevrolet Express 1500

Upfitter package from GM/ Chevrolet. Conversion by Explorer Vans

This van is offered for sale by the original owner. Additionally, all the maintenance records are available that will document that every routine maintenance and repair item was performed on or before it was due.

This beautiful van has been kept in an air conditioned garage since new and is treated to a complete detail every year. My wife and I have used this van for a great many road trips and the mileage will reflect this.  At least half of the164,000 miles are highway miles.

The original front brakes have just been renewed and a new radiator has been installed along with all new belts and hoses and a recent battery. The tires have 6mm tread depth (about 1/2 life) and have been rotated every other oil change. Synthetic oil is now being used due to the mileage.

The van is equipped with a heavy duty locking differential, a class 3 towing receiver and is wired for a Tekonsha trailer brake controller although the van has only been used to tow a light trailer 3 times.

The van has a custom Alpine sound system including hands-free Bluetooth and is also equipped with a separate Blaupunkt wireless headphone stereo system for the rear seat occupants with 2 headphones. The upholstery is genuine leather.

This has been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. No smoking, no pets, no kids. The overall condition, both interior and exterior, reflects a well-cared for vehicle and will hold up nicely to close inspection. There are 2 small paint scratches on the passenger side and very small paint chips from normal use. The vehicle has never been damaged in a collision.

This is our second conversion van and we have ordered our third van from Explorer Vans.  It’s up for sale not because there’s anything wrong with the van.  I’m nearing retirement and my wife and I just need a newer van.

The van is located in Phoenix, Arizona  Will consider delivery. Inquire.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
