This is a really nice last year El Camino.  You can see from the pictures it is an original, never modified El Camino, with the CONQUISTA option.  It is not a show vehicle but with a minimal investment you could bring home trophies.  I have owned this vehicle since 2007, but have driven it only 2692 miles.  It starts right up.  Runs smooth and quiet.  It always gets compliments.  I searched for a long time before purchasing this vehicle.  To me the black/silver color combo is the best set-up.  I purchased the El Camino from the original owner's daughter in CT.  She had it for 9 years.  It was rarely driven and always garaged.  I did a CARFAX check on it before I bought it.  Everything checked out.  Making me the third owner.  I have always taken well care of the vehicle and put a lot of money into it as you can tell by the following list.  I am retiring from teaching this June and need to down-size.  I currently have 4 cars and 2 motor-cycles.  This vehicle has lots of parts relaced with new.  I also have new parts which need to be installed.  Again see the list.  I have all receipts.  The new owner is going to get a really nice El Camino for the price.   The paint shows good in the photos but it is showing its age.  2 small rust spots at the bottom of the doors (which I tried to show in the pictures).  Body straight  -  interior nice.  Bed has some dents but no rust.  I put a bed mat back there.  I have never hauled anything.  Engine compartment is clean.  Overall I would say it is a 7+ out of 10.  And wouldn't take much to make it a strong 9.  El Camino lovers out there don't drag your feet on this one.  One last thing, ebay's computers had trouble locating the vehicle I.D.  So I was told to use the 0's you see above.  The I.D. is 2GCCW80H2HS911144.  The new owner can drive this home with confidence or plan to have it shipped to its new home.  I have tried to describe this El Camino the best I could.  I will be more than happy to answer any and all questions.   HAVE FUN BIDDING!   SOMEONE'S GOING TO OWN AN AWESOME EL CAMINO.........

Since I've owned the vehicle these are the upgrades, new parts that were installed, and new parts that need to be installed.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
