Recently appraised at $15,500!! HURST / OLDS THEME. I took this in on a trade for my Jeep Saharah. This is an awesome car. It is the nicest El Camino that I have ever seen. This is an older build, (about ten years). It is a 1979 one of a kind Chevy El Camino. Over $17,000 was spent on it's build. It is a former show car that is now an occasional driver, (only about 5000 miles has been put on it since it has been put back on the road). It has a built 400 horsepower .030 over 350 Small Block Chevy SBC that has 9.5 to1 compression pistons, It has a Comp Cams cam, Speed Shop heads, Edelbrock Aluminum intake, Edelbrock Pro Series 750 CFM 4 barrel carb, AC-Delco HEI Distributor, Accel 8 mm yellow plug wires, MSD 6AL ignition box, Hooker aluminum long tube headers with Flowmaster exhaust, aluminum billet valve covers, Holley chrome air cleaner, it has new water pump, new alternator with chrome bracket and a new battery. It has a rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic transmission with a 2000 rpm stall converter and a Hurst Pro-Matic floor shifter. It has a 3:73 geared 10 bolt rearend. It has a custom interior with a redone black velour 60/40 split bench seat with fold down armrest. It has new carpet and new door panels and a new aftermarket steering wheel, It is loaded power disc brakes, power steering, power door locks, power windows, cruise control, tilt, A/C,(needs new compressor) and CD player. It is painted in a Hurst Olds basr/clear silver top with black bottom, it has stage 4 ground affects and a Hurst Olds hood scoop, it still looks awesome. It has been lowered 2" with KYB aluminum suspension and KYB adjustible gas shocks. It has new Weld wheels 15x4 on front and 15x8 on the rear. It has new Nexen 165/80R15 tires up front and new BFGoodrich 255/60R15 tires on the rear. This is a real headturner and it is gorgeous, paint is not perfect, but close has a few scuffs, paint bubbles, etc, but absolutely a beautiful, beautiful car. It runs and drives like a new one. It has a fitted, lockable tonnau cover and a car cover for the garage. For Sale or TRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call 812 255 0284 with any questions.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
