DESCRIPTION:       THIS CAR IS AN ORIGINAL BIG BLOCK CALIFORNIA CAR WITH ORIGINAL RUST FREE FLOOR PANS AND HAS NEVER  BEEN IN ACCIDENT (Nothing has been replaced)   IT IS A CUSTOM TRIM PACKAGE CAR WITH OPTIONAL 396 ENGINE  MANUFACTURED IN THE FREMONT CALIF. PLANT.   IT IS A  REALLY REALLY NICE SHOW QUALITY DRIVER CAR,  "TIME ERA" CORRECT OR "OLD SCHOOL"  WITH ITS OWN PERSONALITY !!!    BODY IS SUPER STRAIGHT (All Body Lines Are Right also)  RED PAINT IS  A 2 STAGE BASE COAT/CLEAR COAT THAT SHINES LIKE A MIRROR   ALL CHROME AND STAINLESS TRIM SHINES AND  IS GOOD   THIS CAR DEFINITELY TURNS HEADS AND GETS COMPLIMENTS~~(LOOK AT ALL PICS)   THIS IS NOT A FRAME OFF RESTORATION OR TRAILER QUEEN.   NOR HAS IT BEEN DOCTORED UP TO SELL!!!  With some small expense and  TLC in Detailing (like re painting engine and under carriage which is clean right now but not "Doctored" for selling purposes)  This car could be perfect.   I think that would be fun for a new owner to do,  if he's a "hands on"  car guy,  putting his own touch on it.  Or just leave it the way it is.   I am selling this car just the way I felt proud driving it and showing it on "Cruise Night"    I have owned this car for almost 20 Years

ENGINE:     454 cubic inches with approx. 25,000 miles      (66  396 engine  with correct casting numbers BLOWN UP along time ago ~ but I think I might still have it in the shed and it could be negotiated into the deal possibly, we can talk on that if interested)  Edelbrock C396-QT intake manifold,  Holley 6210-3 650 CFM Double Pumper carb,  Electric Fuel Pump,  MT Valve Covers,  Edelbrock Air Cleaner,  Accel HEI Distributor,    MSD Sparkplug Wires,  Crower mild hydralic street cam  ( do not remember lift and duration but nice sound and performance),   Hooker Headers with 2 1/2 inch exhaust with 2 Chamber Flow Masters (Sounds Awesome)

TRANSMISSION and REAREND:      Turbo 400 with shift kit,  B&M Ratchet Style Shifter,  12 Bolt Posi with  GM 373 gears (original gears were 323),   Gabriel Highjackers (Air Shocks),  Genuine Suspension-NO HOP Bars (Traction Bars)  THE CAR LIFTS UP  HOOKS UP N GOES!!!     NO WHEEL HOP!!!  U CAN REALLY  SMOKE THEM TIRES IF U WANT TO !!!   IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY TIRES ALL THE TIME!!!

WHEELS N TIRES :     Ansen aluminum 15X7 wheels with 3 spoke Knock Offs- ("Old School")   275/60R15 excellent tread rear    205/60R 15   excellent tread front   see pics

INTERIOR:       Grant GT Steering Wheel,  Factory Original Electric Dash Gauges and Under The Dash Mechanical Gauges  (Electric gauges worked but not hooked up,   I was a mechanical gauge believer ~ "Old School"~~could be swapped back if you preferred),   Black Interior which still  "SHOWS LIKE NEW"   including door panels, carpet, headliner, 72 Camaro Bucket Seats  (Taller and Really comfortable~~but same as the blown engine  I think I still have 66 Buckets in the shed and can be negotiated into the deal)  Tinted windows and ADD ON Wing Window Locks (Rare~~when was the last time you saw a pair of these?),  JVC Indash DIRECT FIT AM FM Cassette (Still In Box  Never Opened or Installed  "Old School ") see pic

DISCLOSURES:     Speedo works but not calibrated to the 373 gears (originally had 323 gears but that is an easy fix at any speedo calibration shop),  Wiper Blades are off , but I have the stainless steel arms and they come with the car see pic  (I never drove it in the rain and I liked the look without them)   Heater Core is good and plumbed thru the engine (No Leaks)  but will need a heater switch,  and the cables are stiff  from not using heater and will need to be lubed see pic   Needs one new window crank on passenger side door (little knob fell off but window rolls up and down perfectly) see pic,  Needs little Fisher Plates on both door sills (bottom door plates) see pic  ALL THESE REPAIRS are MINOR and NOT EXPENSIVE to do. All the headlights~tail lights~brake lights and turn signals work fine. All the doors, door locks ,windows, tailgate, hood open and close and work fine. This car has been on a Planned NON OPERATION STATUS (NO PENALTIES)  in the State of California Only fees you would have to pay is a normal current fee if you register it in Calif. It has personalized Calif. Plates~~2 NICE 66 which there would be an additional  fee if you wanted to keep those. Personalized Plates are NOT REQUIRED to go with car in Calif. Seller of car owns plates and you can get new plates.   I am not sure if they will go with the car or not, I might keep them as a remembrance to hang in my garage~~WE can talk on that if you r interested in having them .

NEW PARTS:  Powerbrake Booster and Master Cylinder, Front Disc Brake Calipers, Starter Motor and Solenoid, and the Altenator.    I would not be scared to drive this car cross country~~ I have tried to disclose everything I know about this car to the best of my ability~~~SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS OR REQUEST ANY PICTURES OR SEND YOUR INSPECTOR TO CHECK CAR BEFORE MAKING ANY BIDS ON CAR (Car is located in San Diego Calif.)~~CALL DENNIS at  619 749 5612 or 619 992 5498 and leave message if no answer and I will return call ASAP.   I AM SELLING THIS CAR "AS IS" WITH NO IMPLIED WARRANTY

SOMETHING ABOUT ME NOW:    I AM NOT A DEALER OR CAR FLIPPER!!!  ~~~I am a car guy since the age of 15. I have always been fascinated and loved working on and collecting cars. I have several cars, trucks, Dirt and Asphalt Nascar style stock cars that I raced when I was younger,   AND YES    I will be selling at a later date. I still have 2 cars, I drove in highschool~~ a 40 chevy panel truck and a 67 Chevelle owned them both 40+ years. NOW I AM 60 + (Wow that is scarey)   Even tho it hurts to do this~~It is time to start downsizing everything except for my beautiful wonderful wife~~~Who will never be for sell,~~BUT SHE DOESN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH ANY OF IT(these cars, trucks, etc.)~~If something was to happen to me.  I have really enjoyed this car and I trully hope someone buys it and can enjoy it as much as me. I have seen these cars going as high as $30,000.00.   REMEMBER  THIS IS AN ORIGINAL BIG BLOCK CAR   I have put what I feel is a very fair reserve on this car~~ no wheres near that $30,000.00 amount.  This  gives a buyer plenty of room to do the things  they may want~~and still be good (not over invested  ) in the car.  Good Luck In Bidding  Thank You For Looking  Take Care N May You Enjoy This Car As Much As Me If You Win The Bid!!!~~~GOD  BLESS

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
