The El Camino: Meaning "The Path" has not been matched with any vehicle to date with such enthusiasm. This 5th Generation 1986 El Camino SS Executive G-Body Platform 350 5.0 V8 4 speed automatic has only had 2 owners (me being the 2nd) which was purchased originally in South Carolina where is remains today. Own a legacy that has been discontinued with only 21,508 made in 1986. This has been a second car for me in the past 26 years which has gotten plenty of use but well cared for. Full Maintenance records available, 4 new tires, AC converted & updated to 134a, carbonator, and windshield has been replaced. This car has never seen an accident that can be verified through Carfax. Hard to let this go, but enjoyed it for 26 years and just time to let someone else enjoy this reliable piece of history, A/C ice cold,

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012 18:30:00 EST

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut

Thu, 07 Mar 2013 16:15:00 EST

We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013 15:44:00 EST

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
