This is my first car, purchased in March of 1982 by my dad, for me when I turned 15. My dad & I are the second owners. He passed away in 2005. Purchased from the dealership ( Ebby's Inc. in Oneill Neb.) where it was delivered to from the Kansas City MO. manufacturing plant. Always parked inside and only driven on nice summer days. Only serviced by a Chevrolet dealership when necessary. It still has the working 8 track tape player and the original wheels & floor mats. This is a true factory SS Royal Knight and I have the build sheet to go with it. The mileage is correct at 65,620.  I have always keep my Elky in ready to cruise condition. It is ready to drive anywhere and does not leak a drop. New belts and Michelin tires. My Elky is the January featured ride in the 2013 El Camino's of the NECOA Calendar, And The 2013 El Camino's Of The American Heartland Calendar for the current month of October. It drives strait down the road and I would encourage anyone to test drive it to see how nice it is. I have owned it for over 31 years. This is my baby and I am only selling it to pay for medical bills that are piling up. This vehicle is also listed for sale locally and will be sold only if a cash price is agreed upon. Questions Welcome & Thank You for Looking.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.
