After I lost my job I had to return home and am now forced to sell my cool machine.  I really do not want to let her go but I must make some sacrifices so I can pay the rest of my way through school Up for auction is my college dream car, My El Camino.  I bought this car as a freshman in college and then began  to fix her up.  I have had the clutche pack and transmission rebuilt by a local mechanic.  The Engine has been professionally reworked it has been bored, ballanced and blueprinted.  This Car is Fast.  The engine work was done so well that this car makes good power above RPM levels of your average chevy engine.  I Paid top dollar to get quality parts into the engine and you can tell it was worth it.  On the rebuild I drove the car around 20,000 miles or so (only to school and back) then got a job and had to put the car in storage.  In storage it has sat for several years while I was working up north.

Recently I have found myself in need of money and have unlocked the storage, put a new battery in it, changed the oil, and added water and it fired right up.  I ran it for a while, the oil pressure was still strong and coolant system still functional.  The car runs really strong and has a very agressive unique sound.  I love this type of vehicle because you get a truck with the performance of a true muscle car.  The tires still hold air and car has been stored in doors.  They are a little dry and may need to be replaced soon.  Please note, The wheels that are with the car are the ones shown in the last picture.  The interior is clean and dark blue.  The bed of the truck has a spray liner and the valuable chrome lining is all there.  The paint was professionally done and is in near mint condition with the exception of a small dent on the rear tailgate (hardly noticable in in the pic and in person)
This car is a potential show car and is sold as is. Buyer is responsible for pickup or delivery of the car.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
