Redmond, Oregon, United States
1972 Chevy El Camino 350 V8 Auto trans Solid Car I am selling a running and driving classic El-Camino, V8, Auto trans, Power steering, Power Brakes. You can drive it as-is of make it the car of your dreams on a budget. The front fenders had some rust at the bottom so they were replaced (say gmc sprint but the same fender) the rest of the car is solid and rust free. I have a box of extra parts and some are new (see pic) The car has Rally wheels with brand new tires, orignal hubcaps are included. The engine does puff a little blue when first started and was replaced approx 40k miles ago. It is a 350 v8 with 2 barr carb. The car was originaly orange and was repainted blue back in the 80's and had a canopy installed at that time (included if you want, aluminum gemtop canopy). Has the original spare and smugglers box behind the seat. If needing to ship this car I can help all I can but you need to round up a carrier. Things needed to get it in top shape can be found on ebay. Windshield $125 (crack), Factory seat cover $190 (driver side taped), Factory door panels $99 (driver side top wore), New carpet $140 (old original carpet) all pretty inexpensive things. |

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1
Mon, 13 Jan 2014
The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
