This is for a 1969 Chevy El Camino that has been restored but is not body off frame and has been owned by the current owner since 1978.

EXTERIOR FEATURES:

The exterior has all of the original chrome and was professionally painted in 1994 and is black and is almost completely flawless with the exception of a minimal dent on the roof of the car near the rear window.  I have attempted to capture the flaw with the use of photography, which is barely visible in photo #9; even then its is not distinguishable. The hood of the car has an actual "SS" style hood.

This immaculate and professional paint job extends to the bed of the truck and is in very good to excellent condition.  The tailgate is fully functional, and as you will note, the car is equipped with a trailer hitch.

The tires are in good condition and fashioned with chromed Rally wheels.

The rear window is new and was replaced in 1994 with a light to medium tint.  The windshield, as well, was replaced in 1994 and is in very good to excellent condition.

MECHANICAL FEATURES:

The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy engine with a TH 350 automatic transmission and Crower cam and has approximately 5,000 miles on it to date.  It is equipped with an original Z-28 aluminum factory Chevy manifold.  A brand new A-arm crossbar was installed in 1998-99.  New heads were installed in 98-99 and were purchased from Dart.

The rear end has been redone to include a 12 bolt rear end with a gear ratio of 373, and an Eaton pos-a-traction with new axles and bearings.

INTERIOR FEATURES:

The interior of the car is black in very good to excellent condition and was redone in 1998-99.  It features a new bench seat, new carpeting, new door panels and padded dash.  It has an after market AM/ FM radio and cassette player which are fully functional.  The steering wheel is also in very good to excellent condition and is original.  The driver's and passenger windows are original and also fully functional.

The car has 2 separate car covers and has been stored in a climate controlled environment.

In addition to all features mentioned above, this auction includes the following BRAND NEW and UNINSTALLED parts:

Complete Linkage Kit for a 4-speed purchased for approximately $900.00 retail

Front Grille "SS" type

Please feel free to submit any questions you may have.  Payment is due within 72 hours after the close of auction.  Thanks!

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
