Here is a beautiful, pro touring 1967 Chevrolet El Camino SS in excellent condition inside and out. This unbelievable '67 El Camino is truly as nice as they come and performs as good as it looks. The car is powered by a Corvette fuel injected LT1 engine backed with a Richmond 5-Speed manual transmission. It has a pro touring, Hotchkis-style front suspension with four-wheel disc brakes. It is truly one of the nicest running and driving '67 El Camino's I've had the pleasure of owning. It received a total restoration that was professionally done. There were thousands of dollars invested in building this awesome El Camino. It was built perform and handle like a new car. It has a gorgeous, bright red job with black SS strips that looks absolutely amazing. It was hand rubbed to a smooth as glass finish. The body is straight as an arrow and totally solid as a rock. All of the chrome and trim is brand new and in show condition. It also has all new rubbers through out the car. Absolutely everything on this car is brand new or restored as you can see from the pictures. It has a spray in bed liner in the bed. It is sitting on a set of 17" Custom Black Torq Thrust Wheels with like new tires. This El Camino is a true crowd pleaser! The black interior is all brand new and looks amazing. The dash and gauge cluster has all been restored. It has a pair of custom black and white hoodstooth seats the look great and are very comfortable. Everything works perfectly in the car including the gauges, radio and lights. It also has a fitted AM-FM cassette stereo that sounds great! Mechanically, this El Camino is in great condition. It has strong running fuel injected LT1 out of late model Corvette. Under the hood is beautifully detailed. It has a pro touring, Hotchkis-style front suspension with 4 wheel disc brakes. Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
