This is a re-list because the winner did not come though. In my previous listing I had stated that this Corvette had two previous owners only, but this is not the case, it has had 4 previous owners. This is in part why I amicably canceled last week's sale. Please read terms & details about my listings before bidding. Also, if new and not sure how eBay works don’t hesitate to contact me first!!

I'm listing this 1988 Corvette 35th Anniversary Edition with about 38,000 miles for a very nice couple in Sarasota, about 45 minutes south of me. They should be the fourth owners and are selling because they are scaling down!

REVISION: I took new photos because I thought that the Corvette being white was too bright under the sun to appreciate its true condition; so, in order to show more depth in terms of paint finish and its overall shape, I shot many of the photos inside the garage. I also took new ones under the carriage to show that this corvette has no rust whatsoever other than a portion of the mufflers as previously stated, which can be expected for the age of the vehicle (see photos). Also, other new images show door rubber seals, wheels, etc. I hope that now with these new images members can better appreciate this Vette's remarkable condition!

Corvette was purchased about 15 years ago in Michigan by the husband as a 25 Year Anniversary gift to his wife, and it's been here in Florida for the past 3 or 4 years. This Vette has always being garaged and well taken care of. Also, owners assured me that they never ever drove during snow season! This vehicle is in remarkable condition for it does not look or feel like a car that is 25 year old, far from it. I drove it, and it ran VERY well. It's tight, steering straight, cold A/C, etc, but I found the brakes a bit hard. Everything, including all electrical and digital instrument panel work as they should, but I was told that the radio goes on and off. The radio was working when I tested it. Rubber trims are in good overall condition for the age too. Interior is very good also, but driver seat shows wear, and passenger seat belt has some stains of sorts, but they look like they could be professionally cleaned (see attached images). Recent fuel pump. I am pretty sure that the tires are still the original ones, or are at least a little over 15 years old. So at some point they will need to be replaced. Also, the rear muffler pipes have rust (see undercarriage images).

In my opinion, this is almost like one of those "barn finds" vehicles. Very original with relatively very low miles. So, if you are looking for a well-above-average condition Corvette of this era then I think this one deserves serious consideration!  Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, and thanks for looking!

TERMS & DETAILS OF THE AUCTION:

This is a NO RESERVE Listing: This is a great opportunity to buy a nice Corvette at a fabulous price!  PLEASE...Serious eBay Members Only! If Not Sure How eBay Works Don’t Hesitate to Contact Me First!!

Required Deposit:  A $1,000 deposit is due within 24 hours from the end of the auction and is payable through Pay Pal. The deposit is refundable ONLY in the event I failed to accurately describe the vehicle, OR if you uncover an issue that I wasn't aware of. I cannot accept balance through Pay Pal because Electronic Tracking is required to maintain Pay Pal Buyer/Seller Guarantees.

Payment of Balance: The balance is payable to the seller at the time you take possession of the vehicle. Payments can be made by personal check (upon clearance), cashiers checks (upon clearance) bank wire transfers, or good old fashion cash.

Taking Possession of The Vehicle: Our policy is that you take possession of the vehicle and finalize the transaction within 7 days. If you require additional time, please let me know so I can make the arrangements with the seller. Please note, that the Seller has possession of the vehicle, so it'll be picked up at the Seller's address. Although I've examined the title, it's also in the possession of the Seller and will be endorsed when the transaction is finalized.

Out of Town Buyers – Shipping the Vehicle: If you're an out-of-town buyer, full payment must be made prior to shipping.  I'll be glad to assist buyers in making shipping arrangements and I can refer buyers to a trusted transportation company that I personally use, but all costs are buyer's responsibility.

Car History Reports: eBay no longer offers complementary car history reports since I transact such a quantity of sales. So, I leave it to the buyer to pull one if desired.

Warranties & Guarantees: As is customary, the vehicle is being sold “As Is,” and there are No Warranties or Guarantees offered.

Prior Sale of Vehicle:  Keep in mind that I'm listing vehicles for others, and on a very rare occasion it happened that a seller changed his mind during the course of the auction. We ALL act in good faith, but an unforeseen circumstance can arise.... in two years of conducting eBay vehicle auctions and having sold hundreds of vehicles, this kind of thing happened once, but I wanted to mention this VERY REMOTE possibility right up-front.

ABOUT ME – The Listing Agent

My name is Jose I'm a Graphic Artist by profession and a car lover by choice...In fact, I worked my way through college doing mainly sports car restorations. Although I'm not a “master mechanic,” I know cars VERY well and have an eye for value. I'm not a “Car Dealer,” or a “Broker,” but I provide a valuable service to individuals who don't have the time or expertise to list their vehicles on e-Bay.

While I provide this service as a “Business,” I'm VERY particular about who I deal with, and I'm especially careful when it comes to the vehicle being sold. In fact, I reject vehicles that don’t meet my criteria, and this accounts for my success! I utilize an extensive “Check List,” on every vehicle. I personally check all the paperwork, inspect the vehicle (including paint, bodywork and engine) and finally test drive myself if applicable. While I do my best to uncover and disclose all possible issues relating to a vehicle, I always suggest that buyers have the vehicle inspected before finalizing a transaction.

As you can see, I've achieved good rating on eBay, so my major objective is to provide eBay members with complete satisfaction, and a fair deal!  eBay members are the most important part of any transaction that I make, so my goal is to be as accurate as possible. If an issue does arise, I'll do my best to solve it. I believe that communication can solve any problem, so if you buy or bid on a vehicle that I've listed, and a problem arises, please talk to me before leaving any negative feedback! Communication is the Key to a GREAT Deal.  Don't Hesitate to Contact Me at 727.522.2531

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.
