2004 Corvette Z06

Good condition

59XXX miles (mainly highways miles)

Originally a California car I had shipped with me when I moved from SoCal. I love this Vette, but am selling because I don’t get to drive it as much as I like to due the New England weather and need a year round daily driver and need to clear up winter garage space for car projects. This is an awesome performing, fun car that has been a great driver and very dependable. Great looking and always gets compliments wherever I park it. It does have the heads up display. Car is registered in MA now and the title is clear and in my name. Comes with fitted car cover.

All original except for the following extras:

Chrome Z06 Wheels

SLP Blackwing Cold Air Induction (huge performance increase)

DBA Slotted/Drilled Rotors with EBC Red Stuff Pads. These were changed within the last 10,000 miles. Original brakes still had plenty of meat but I didn’t like the looks of the original rotors. Changed and flushed the brake fluid at the same time.

Shift Knob

Sill Plate protectors

Tinted Windows

Passenger compartment/trunk divider.

Car had the catalytic converters and H-pipe replaced at around 38000 miles by the GM Dealership under warranty since it threw an OBD code (California emission laws require a 10 year warranty on cats) At the same time I had them do a clutch/slave cylinder/flywheel/throughout bearing due to a noisy through out bearing. Clutch and flywheel looked new but I has them change it anyway with all new GM parts. All work done at a dealership in Southern California that is known for specializing in Corvettes. I just replaced the passenger side AIR check valve (common issue with these) and at the same time did the intake manifold gaskets. (I’m a mechanical engineer by trade and restore muscle cars on the side). Anyone familiar with C5 Z06 knows these are typical issues that I have already taken care of so that the car is ready for thousands of problem free miles.

I have always changed the oil myself every 4000 miles with Mobile 1 synthetic oil and filter.

The bad:

Needs tires soon.

Chrome on inside on rims is peeling. It has not affected the outside of the rims and they look great (see pics) but I’m sure it eventually will.

A couple of very light scratches on the tint in the drivers side window. Not bad.

Door panels have the typical C5 Corvette wrinkle at the armrest (see pics).

Other than that, typical wear expected for a Z06 with 50,000+ miles but always well taken car of.

I have tried to describe this ‘Vette the best I can and I am very picky about my vehicles. Anyone interested is encouraged to come look at it in person, and I will answer any questions the best I can. Please ask questions BEFORE bidding. This truly is a performance bargain. Car is advertised locally so I reserve the right to end the auction anytime and the mileage at time of sale may be slightly higher since I do drive it. Due to the some of the bad eggs out there, I will cancel any bids from Ebay members with zero feedback unless you contact me though Ebay or call me at 508-951-2932 beforehand. I have trouble accessing Ebay from my work computer, but I will answer any questions through Ebay as quickly as I can.

US buyers ONLY.

Will not ship. Pick up in person only unless you contact me to make prior arrangements PRIOR to placing your bid. Please cash or bank check only, and the car will not be released until the bank check is verified and accepted by my bank.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
