2004 Corvette Convertible

Thanks for looking at my Corvette. This will probably be the lowest reserve car of this year for sale on here. I bought this car in July of 2011 and have put about 4000 miles on it. I have enjoyed it and now its time to move on to something else.

What I have done to the car: New shifter cable, new center console, two new front tires, new heat/ac control, custom floor mats.

The car is not perfect! I have tried to show in the pictures some of the faults, but this is hard to do. Especially with a white car. The back bumper has some cracked paint spots, the right front bumper also. The drivers seat looks to have been repaired and resprayed. The HUD display works but the motor that raises and lowers it has a problem. The top is sound. It has some wear spots in it though. I have tried to show these in the pictures. The two rear tires are about 50% and the fronts are new. All four tires match. They are not run flats. Other than that the car runs and drives great. No apparent mechanical issues I know of.

If you want a driver quality Corvette convertible you need to look at this one. I bought the car at a wholesale price and am going to sell it at a wholesale price. The car presents very well as you can see in the pictures.

I am starting the auction low. Bid like you want it. If you buy it, you bought it. You are not buying the right to come and inspect it then make a decision. Come and inspect it first. I have a clear Georgia title in hand. $500 non refundable paypal deposit required. If you don't have a paypal account call to discuss. If you use some sort of payment other than cash, you will have to wait for it to clear.  I will be glad to answer any questions or send out more pictures as requested. The car is just south of Chattanooga, TN in NW Georgia. I will reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally. Kevin 423.280.1265

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Chevrolet Camaro in Korea - Click above for high-resolution image

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
