1997 - Chevrolet Corvette on 2040-cars
White Marsh, Maryland, United States
Beautiful car lived its whole life in Arizona until last year when I bought it for my wife. She is a high school administrator (Principal) and will not drive the car because it is so beautiful she fears it will be vandalized. So it sits in the garage most of the time covered. It needs a good home where it will be enjoyed and used. Everything works A/C blows cold no mechanical issues very very clean car. Oh and did I mention very very very fast. Interior excellent condition. New tires on front about 2/3 worn on rear. RANKED NO 5 BEST CORVETTE EVER MADE BY EDMONDS AND INDYWERKS Write up on the car by Indywerks 5. 1997 Corvette C5 While the C4 generation Corvette was capable, it wasn't until the C5 came along in 1997 that Chevrolet finally produced a Corvette that mixed both performance capability and true touring comfort. The C5 was the first Corvette that was as comfortable crossing the country as dicing for position on a racetrack. The trick to the C5's uncanny balance was that the balance was engineered in from the beginning. The C5's basic structure was an all-new backbone frame that positioned the transmission between the rear wheels so its mass could offset the engine's mass up front. The result was better weight distribution. Pushing the C5's advantage even further was the brilliant all-new LS1 5.7-liter V8. The first all-aluminum V8 used in a volume production Corvette, and GM's first all-new small-block since 1955, the LS1 produced 345 hp and a seamless ribbon of torque. And it was quick, too. With the four-speed automatic transmission it would run from zero to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds. With the six-speed manual, that time would drop to just under 5 seconds.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
