Outstanding low mileage 1996 Corvette convertible. 1st place in C4 stock class at 2012 Corvette Homecoming; NCRS flight judged at 2 chapter meets with raw scores of 97.4 and 99.1 and a regional score of 98.4. VERY original car, that needs a new home. It is too nice at 17 years old to be driven the way many Corvettes are. Specifics: Arctic white over torch red interior with white soft top; LT1 (300 HP), automatic, Preferred Equipment Group (electronic air, Bose AM/FM/CD/cassette, power driver seat), sport leather seats, power passenger seat, and performance axle. The car stickered new at $48,334. The car has spent most of its life in the hands of collectors and is well cared for. Although averaging less than 1300 miles a year, I have driven the car 4500 trouble free miles in the last year. Everything works on this car and everything that should be there is. The original wheels are on the car with Goodyear GSDs with 3600 miles. The car drives flawlessly. Asking $19,500 and worth it! Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22.
