For sale is a 1994 Corvette in very good condition, it is fantastic especially for a 20 year old sports car.  It’s a classic Corvette C4 design and a great ride thanks to Corvette’s remarkable suspension. The car pulls hard with 300/300 HP/Torque. It comes with original owner’s manual in Leather book and 2 sets of keys.  All black interior, carpets, floor mats, and leather seats.  All original features operate. Never smoked in and everything works (except the CD player).  This Corvette has the standard 245 / 45’s in the front and 275 / 40’s in the rear and the tired have plenty of tread only minor wear. No dents or dings and the paint is shiny. I am the second owner - car has always been garaged! It was never driven in the winter or when the roads were wet, very pampered Reserve is set below Book Value.  I will gladly help with shipping logistics, but it is the buyer's responsibility to arrange for and pay shipping. Interesting Anecdotes: You will want to choose your own nickname for this Corvette, when you get it, but it will always be “the bat-car” to my kids. They especially like turning the corner onto our street and coming up the driveway while the automatic garage door opener is at work. They pull into the garage, turn off the engine, and immediately lower the garage door behind them while the Batman theme music is playing on the Bose speakers. Yeah I know it’s cornball, but it never seems to get old they cheer every time. The history of this Corvette is unique. It started life as an “Executive Program” car. Did you know that all GM executives are obligated to drive all the GM models for about three months and that those cars, which are typically fully loaded, are then sold to the public? Well it’s true and this Corvette started life as an executive car, but not in the typical manner. This Corvette was placed into the executive program at the request of a lobbyist who had strong ties to GM management, which is apparently not unusual, but who knows. The story is that the request was spurred by the lobbyist’s desire to give his wife the Corvette-of-her-dreams for their 10th wedding anniversary, with a give-me-a-ticket red exterior and black leather interior. It made a big hit and I'm guessing he got lucky that night and perhaps several nights afterward.

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
