1975 Corvette stingray...This car is much nicer than most.....extremely well optioned with T-tops,tilt/scope...burgandy leather interior, a/c (has a leak but is complete), power windows and am/fm stereo as well as turbo 400 trans with limited slip differential...the 350 engine has been updated to more horsepower(previous owner) and now has edlebrock manifold and carb...I own my own shop and am a liscensed rebuilder with 40 years experience, I bought this car in 1993 from a local recycler that I did much biz with then who'd set it aside as "too nice to part out"... and I agreed with that, being that the damage was only the front bumper and bought it...however besides regular shop buisness, I was involved doing a frame off resto on my 55 nomad and wound up selling it to a friend....that friend stripped the car of the old paint repalced front and rear(due to deterioration, not accident damage) bumpers with fiberglass ones and was preparing to to repaint it when he got hit on his motorcycle and hurt bad enough to have to abandon his efforts and sell the vette, he let me know this and sure enough another friend (the current owner) bought the car and had me finish the work that had been started. we finished the car in the original inca silver.. that was in 2006....since then he and his wife have enjoyed the car during good weather and kept it stored in heated garage during winter, he's selling the car because he's gotta get a kid thru college .....Now a word about rebuilt titles.....This rediculous legislation was inacted around the mid to late 80's as a deterrant to car thieves reselling stolen parts and switching vin tags ect. and as a way to regulate salvage yards and keep them honest....the same politicians also claimed there would be disclosure for consumers to make them aware of potential shoddy workmanship....in doing so any car deemed a total loss by the insurance companies would be branded no matter what the damage....well, in 1995 you could buy a corvette for as little as $3500.00-$5000.00 yet the parts and labor to fix these at the time lowly corvettes was the same as fixing a high dollar new or 50's-60's collector corvette thus it was easy for the insurance companies to say we're gonna total it at 75% total value required and give the owner a few grand and walk away....profit being the only motivation on their part...thus leaving many good old vettes like this in the lurch.... all the consumer really needs is the lemon law....shoddy work happens everyday on all things, I've fixed many cars for insurance companies that belonged in the junk yard and seen many cars get totaled that should'nt have....all this being said this car has a proven track record having been "in the family" for over a decade being used, loved, driven, shown and still looks gorgeous, it has gained value, regardless of the branded title. as it will for you. which I might add this car required no state inspection of vehicle due to it's classic status, proving what I said about theives being the real reason for branding titles....if you're in a state that does not brand titles you will have a clean title when transferred if your state even issues titles for vintage vehicles....I agreed to write this history for my friend Mike who is the current owner and is responsible for this listing....he's taken many pictures and has one of before paint job so you can see for yourself what was done....this is one of the best old vettes out there with one paint job done correctly in the original color and the rest of the car is original and has #'s matching engine/driveline and in excellent condition.....this car has been driven and has some minor imperfections. If you have any questions please ask.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
