THIS 1973 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE IS REGISTERED, TITLED, INSURED AND INSPECTED IN MY NAME. IT WAS MY SUMMER DRIVER AND I HAVE DRIVEN IT OVER 2000 MILES THIS SEASON. THE CORVETTE HAS A BEAUTIFUL REPAINT OF CORRECT CORVETTE ORANGE, A 1973 COLOR. THE PAINT REQUIRED MINIMAL SERVICE, JUST A QUICK WIPE WITH SOAP AND WATER AND IT SHINES WITH A GORGEOUS LUSTER. I GET COMPLIMENTS EVERYWHERE I GO WITH THIS CORVETTE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE TOP DOWN. INTERIOR SEATS WERE REDONE WITH BLACK LEATHER AND HAVE A WATERPROOF COATING. IF YOU GET A SUDDEN RAIN SHOWER, THE SEATS WIPE CLEAN WITH NO STAIN OR MARKS. ENGINE IS ORIGINAL L48 WITH CLA SUFFIX AND M40 TURBOHYDRAMATIC 400 TRANSMISSION . TRANSMISSION WAS JUST SERVICED WITH NEW FILTER AND FLUID AND BANDS TIGHTENED. CAR STARTS, DRIVES AND SHIFTS BEAUTIFULLY. BRAKES WERE REDONE RECENTLY, AND RECENTLY ADJUSTED AND INSPECTED AS WELL AS CHASSIS. CHASSIS IS VERY WELL PRESERVED, AND HAS SPARE TIRE AND TIRE CARRIER. OPTIONS INCLUDE POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, POWER WINDOWS, LEATHER SEATS, FACTORY A/C. CONVERTIBLE TOP SEATS IN MOUNTS, SEALS AND GOES UP AND DOWN WITH EASE AND TONNEAU HAS EASY RELEASE AND LATCH. HEADLAMPS, WIPERS, WINDOWS ALL WORK GREAT. 1973 HAS NEW NHTSA 5 MPH RUBBER BUMPER IN FRONT AND 1968-1972 CHROME REAR BUMPERS. CHROME IS VERY GOOD CONDITION. 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
