1972 Corvette Convertible Red With Black Top on 2040-cars
Texarkana, Texas, United States
I owned this car back in the early 80's and sold it to a friend of mine. He kept it until last year and I bought it back. Unfortunately he had let the car sit in his garage much more than he drove it. When I got it I pulled the motor, transmission ,and rear end. All were rebuilt and run great. I did add a MSD ignition system for reliability . I replaced the shocks with Bilstein gas shocks ,replaced the entire interior , new power brake system and master cylinder. Any thing that needed to be rebuilt or replaced was. I put a better canvas style black top on the car and it does have the hard top to. This car came with the 454 engine and was rated at a detuned 270 horse. I did put a little bit more cam when I had the engine built to give it a little more umph. It will smoke the tires . The block is a CE block. The engine let go very early and was replaced under warranty. I also added an electric fan as the cars had a reputation of running on the hot side. It runs cool now with no issues. If you want to fly in and drive home it will go anywhere. The car is in Texarkana Texas and I recommend that you come see the car and drive it. You will really enjoy the ride and drive. For questions you can reach me at 903-824-2407 Danny. Thank you for viewing my car and I will do everything I can to provide a good buying experience.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
