This 1967 Corvette convertible is loaded with options.  It has factory air conditioning (cold), power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, AM/FM radio, 2 tops, side exhaust, 3.55 posi rear-end, bolt-on aluminum wheels and Michelin redline radial tires.  The previous owner, of 15 years, converted it from a powerglide to a 4 speed transmission.  He also updated the suspension.  It's the best of both worlds.  It is an original mid-year with a great ride and handling.  The car runs, drives and stops excellent.  It does have the matching number 327/300 hp engine, intake, carb, exhaust manifolds and rear-end.  It is the original colors of Marlboro Maroon with saddle vinyl interior and tan convertible top.  All of the lights work as they should including the back-up lights, glove box light, turn signals, headlights etc.  The headlight motors roll up and down and the wipers work.  All of the gauges work including the clock.  It has the jack and the original spare tire.  The underside is nicely detailed as well as the engine compartment.  The body is very nice with the bonding strips as they should be.  The frame is excellent.  The paint is very nice.  It has the correct air cleaner, ignition shielding, plug shields, clear floor mats, seat belts, shifter and battery cables.  I do have the original small block hood that comes with the car along with some receipts.  Inspections are welcomed.  I can be reach at 706-838-0166,

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
