I am the 4th owner & bought the car sight unseen 8 years ago . It sat in a warehouse for approx.22years in Wisconsin . It was an original California car ,but was sold at auction in the 80s & sat with many other cars in a warehouse. Since getting the car I have done a lot of mechanical work to it .Had the complete breaking system redone . rebuilt the top end , cam , heads ,waterpump, alternator ,carb , & all related parts . Front end , bushings ,bearings , joints , shocks etc. alignment was done . Rearend ,bearings , bushings , trail arms, suspension , differential, leaf spring, etc , alignment was done . The radiator , gas tank & lines were all redone . The car runs & drives great ! I have the owners manual,& some extra parts . It sounds great with the after market mufflers & the 30\30 cam. [ the only part in the motor thats not stock]. It is a real attention- getter & a piece of American history . It was in several Hot-Rod magazines in the early 70s , I have one of them . The custom paint looks good but needs a light sand & clear coat applied to make it look fantastic. I dont want to sell the car but am financially forced to. If you have any questions you can call me on my cell at 562-544-5430 .

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette
Thu, 14 Feb 2013When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
