Restored 1967 Chevrolet Corvair Super Nice on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:47000
Location:

Mahopac, New York, United States

Mahopac, New York, United States

Up for sale, for the first time ever is this 1967 Corvair. That's right. I bought this car from the original owner who is a female neighbor of mine. She was retiring and was moving and having a tag sale and the car was in the garage. We worked a deal and I ended up with it.  There are a ton of receipts from the beginning to recently. The car has always been in a climate controlled garage. A very dry car. It only has 47k original miles on it.

The driveline is all #'s matching and freshened up. There was no need for a rebuild as mechanically it has always been 100%. This car runs like its still 1967! The automatic shifts well. The car goes down the road straight with no vibrations or abnormal noises.

The interior is mostly original but any worn parts were replaced during the restoration. A very nice cabin. Electrically everything works as it should. No worries there. Even the AM radio still works.

The suspension, brakes, exhaust have been gone through. Anything that was needed to be replaced, was. Everything is tight and fresh. All the chrome and stainless looks good. The tires are in great shape.

Even though this car is a one owner, garaged kept car. Cosmetically, it did need some freshening up to be perfect. So that's exactly what happened. The car was stripped down and professionally restored. Everything looks new. The door jams, the trunk, engine compartment....everything is detailed. I encourage you to come see it. You will be impressed. There are a couple of small rips low on the driver's side door panel but not bad enough to warrant replacement.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Email me, I will get back to you ASAP. I will help with shipping but the winner will have to arrange and pay for the shipping. There will be a $500 non refundable deposit due 48 after the auction is over. This is a no reserve auction. Please bid hard and bid often. If you win, please pay. There can't be many 67 Corvairs out there in this condition. Don't miss it.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
