Corvair, Corsa 140 1965 on 2040-cars

St. George, Utah, United States

The body of this car is a 1965. The transmission is a 1966. (the 1966 Transmission is more reliable than the 1965)

The paint is about 16 years old. There are a couple of chips (small, noting bigger than a size of a pea) there are two small rust spots on both the driver side and passenger side door. (Both are located and the base of the car and are no bigger than a quarter and cannot be seen from a distance)

The engine is the best part about this car. The car has a 6 cylinder, 6 carburetor Webber system.

Has 2 x 3-barrel Weber carburetors that are all sync up and run well together, one carburetor throat for each cylinder. Power output is in the 240 horsepower range. Just had the Carbs synced about a month ago.

The guy before me put all the bells and whistles. He made the car more like a race car, but never raced it. He had aluminum heads and light weight Valves. I replaced the heads and the Valves with more reliable products. (I can’t tell the difference, diminutive loss of power)

Tires are in excellent shape.

Just had the oil replaced. (Not because it was getting dirty, but because it is getting cold outside) I dropped the W to 5W-30. Using Quaker State Advanced Durability. As far as I know the car has had Quaker State its whole life.

The car runs great, sounds awesome! New battery, new distributor cap, new wires, new and adjusted valves, (have paper work to prove all work). The car runs and idles very well. The engine looks hot and shows very well, very clean, looks flawless. The car also has a quick shifter. The 6 carbs have a clear covering with the Chevrolet emblem that looks really good. Great start up collectable. It has a Cassette Tape player. The Interior has blue carpeting and black leather seats.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
