This is an original Black Plate California 4 speed Corvair Monza. The car runs well, shifts fine, clutch works as it should. It is my daily driver.

Dual master cylinder and new rear brakes. Basically all new electrics for the engine compartment: New distributor cap, rotor and wires and plugs. New coil. New alternator and new battery with new positive battery cable.

Fresh oil change with filter. New oil pan gasket.

Very cool optional and rare red interior with bucket seats. Seat belts have been added. Interior restoration started with new factory red carpets. As you will notice from the pics it could use a new set of seat covers, which, of course, are readily available.

Tread on the tires is good but the tires are about 10 years old and the sidewalls are showing small cracks.

White paint is the original color but the car had a respray some time ago.

As you can see from the pics there is some rust around the rear window and the passenger side door, but there is no structural rust issues at all.

The car currently has aftermarket aluminum rims, but we have the original hubcaps that should go on the original steel wheels.

Aftermarket Pioneer tuner and CD player with iPod input.

Car leaks a little oil like most 50 year old Corvairs. This is simply a good, honest corvair for your restoration project or to drive as is.

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
